Yerevan

The capital of Armenia is Yerevan city. The city has many epithets – “garden city”, “pink city”, “open-air museum” and others.

Yerevan is one of the oldest cities in the world. Its age is more than 2800 years and dates back to the construction of the Erebuni fortress in 782 BC. BC, although there are also excavations of settlements on the territory dating back to the middle of the 5th millennium BC. For a long time, the city was subjected to ruin and destruction by the conquerors. The first mentions of it as a significant and large trading city date back to the beginning of the 8th century.

Yerevan became the capital of Armenia in 1918. Now it is a modern, beautiful city with a population of over 1 million 100 thousand people.
